With exceptionally high expectations VIJAY DEVARAKONDA's starrer 'LIGER' is supposed to hit the screens worldwide today. It's a sports action film written and directed by puri jagannadh and bankrolled by dharma productions and puri connects. It's also starring Ananya pandey, RamyaKrishna, vishu reddy in important roles. Also, American boxer MIKE TYSON plays a cameo in this flick. Let's see whether puri jagannadh is succeeded in making a perfect pan india film Or not.
Story -
Liger(Vijay Devarakonda) goes all his way to mumbai from karimnagar to get training for MMA. After going to mumbai liger gets distracted by taniya (ananya pandey). Falls in love with her. Rest of the movie is how he goes to MMA and how he wins it.
Thumbs ups -
First of all, need to appreciate vijay. We can see his efforts for the movie on screen. He delivered appreciable performance. His role is decent. He did his best as boxer with stammer. His dance moves and fight scenes are also good. Credits to choreographer.
Vijay's introduction fight scene is choreographed and captured well.
Ananya'a role and her presence are don't have any impact. There is nothing to watch her role except for beauty. RamyaKrishna and other actors are good within their role limits. Ali and getup srinu's cameos brings laugh in theatres.
Introduction titles are good and neatly presented. MMA fight scenes are a bit engaging because of the background song.
Mike Tyson extended cameo is good but a fight with him and winning over him is completely logicless.

Ananya's introduction song is bearable and her presence is not good. Emotional scenes in first half didn't work well. Apart from some fight scenes and comedy scenes there is nothing in first half. Love track is a patience testing one and it's look like director forcefully added the track, It didn't work well. Interval is not at all engaging. Things will goes up, all of a sudden they goes down. It happens every single time in the movie. There is nothing new in the whole movie. We can predict every scene. Poor climax and logiceless
Technical Aspects -
Background score is good. Mostly elevates the scenes and situations in the movie. Cinematography is effective only in fight scenes and rest of the camera work is normal. Editing is okay. Production values are good.
Director failed to deliver the movie strongly. Puri is known for his strong hero characterisation and his dialogues. He failed to do them in liger. Things are all completely rushed. There is no villain in the movie. Except for some high moments there is nothing to watch in the movie. Puri again failed to make a comeback.
Verdict -
On a whole liger is a one time watchable with few mass moments. Lacks a proper story. Liger have to fight even more hard to get success at box office. Don't know why they highly promoted the movie. Go with low expectations.
