MAD is a youthful entertainer written and directed by Kalyan Shankar. It's starring Sangeetha shoban, ram Nithin, narne Nithin, ananthika sanilkumar, Sri gouri Priya Reddy, gopika udyaan and some other known artists. The film created some good  buzz with the trailer and promised an hilarious enterntainer.
Mad movie

Story -

Sets in an engineering college. Three guys named Ashok,Manoj and damodar becomes friends with each other. They always wants to do everything except studies. Manoj falls for Shruthi and jenni falls for Ashok. Damodar always stays away from girls thinking they won't fall for him. But things changes when an unknown girl starts calling him. Rest of the movie is about their college journey/ experiences.

Thumbs up -
First things first, college dramas are always refreshing to watch and most of the time we'll connect to them. MAD is also on that road only and with the fresh faces it gives you more refreshing feel. The one - liners in the movie works most of the time and stays true it's title. The film goes on narrative mode.
It wouldn't have been possible without the presence of Sangeeth shoban, narne Nithin, ram Nithin and Vishnu. Especially Sangeeth shoban, be it the dialogue delivery, expressions are treat to watch. If he choose the right scripts he'll become a big name.
Narne Nithin and ram Nithin both looked cool and they has very good screen presence.
The major lady cast, Sri gouri Priya Reddy, gopika udyaan, ananthika sanilkumar have done their job beautifully.

Thumbs down -
As the makers already said, this is a youthful entertainer without a proper story. If the audience goes by expecting some story or  some drama, they'll surely gets disappointed. The songs aren't great. They're passable.
Since, the director concentrated only on the youth characters, he didn't gave enough space for  parents characters. It would have been better if muralidhar goud and Raghu babu get more space.

Technical Aspects -
Production values are good. The editing team did a near job since they cut the film in fast paced manner. And it helped. Even the songs aren't good enough, bheems did a good job in giving background score. Camera work is neat.
Coming to director Kalyan Shankar, he succeeded in delivering what he wanted to.
He didn't got a story to show but he did created some funny episodes and made them a 2hour long movie and he kept the audience engaging with that. It would have been better if he added some proper love track.

Verdict -
On the whole, its an hilarious youthful entertainer without a proper story..

Rating - 3/5
